$1433 in 2 weeks! Wow! [March 2014]
Congratulations to Castle Park Elementary School students Anastasia Youdell, Kelly Miada, Natalie Vance, Jessica Marchand, Emily Dickson (missing from photo: Deena Lahker)! The girls sold our glow stars to their friends and family and, in just two weeks, they raised $1433! Amazing! Make-A-Wish had the privileged of visiting their school to congratulate the girls in front of their entire student body. "Everyone is so proud of what they've accomplished so [the assembly ] is a great way to celebrate their success!" - Tobie Dickson, Make-A-Wish Volunteer/Mother of Student Emily Dickson. Thank you girls for all your hard work!
Jan 2014- Gray Elementary has broken a record here at our BC office. They started, planned, and facilitated their fundraiser in less than 2 weeks, and managed to raise a whopping total of $2000.08!!!! That's the fastest a group has ever raised that much money for granting wishes!
"We never could have anticipated the amazing response from our school community and our final total was $2000!! The students were beyond excited and proud that their candy cane sale had been so successful and they knew they were making a difference in the life of a sick child. This was a special learning experience for all involved and taught the kids that they can all make a difference regardless of their age" - Elsie, Grade 3 teacher
When Breanne, Sarah and Josh were assigned a service-learning project, they chose Make-A-Wish. "We chose Make-A-Wish because we know someone personally who [had] a wish granted and we were inspired by their story.' Breanne stated. 'We also think that it is amazing that you can bring so much happiness into kids lives when it is really hard for them." The students created and printed their own cookbook and sold it to their friends, family and school. Together, they raised $335, and donated all the proceeds to the KFWK program. Thank you Josh, Breanne, and Sarah!
